Discover 😎 law topics&facts, my career & lawyer journey🇦🇺🇨🇦, motivation, story & tips for aspiring legal professionals 🇨🇦🌐& Ontario bar study guide

📚 The birth of Ginny's Ontario Bar Exam Study Guid 📚 The birth of Ginny's Ontario Bar Exam Study Guide came from a pivotal moment—I passed the bar on my first attempt while a fellow student in my tutoring group failed multiple times. When she asked for help, I realized something crucial: she understood the material but lacked exam strategy.

That's when it clicked. The difference wasn't about knowing the law—it was about approaching the exam strategically. Many resources focused on content, but few addressed the tactical side of bar preparation.

I created this guide to fill that gap—providing the exam strategies that made the difference for me. I wanted it to be affordable (no more than you'd pay for a self-help book) and accessible (digital format you can access anytime).

Think of it as having a personal exam coach without the scheduling headaches or premium price tag.

Have you felt like you understood the material but just didn't understand how to tackle on the exams themselves or just felt like you were studying wrong but not sure how?

2025 Achievements. The past 2 years have really b 2025 Achievements.
The past 2 years have really been crazy for me and have really tested me but I'm still pushing through and so will you. We should try to remember to celebrate our wins, and be grateful for our growth. Sometimes we get lost in the challenges and forget about how far we've come or the little or the big things that did go right. As a hard-working young associate, it was easy to brush off my wins & to just keep going but I've learned we should take a pause at times to remember our wins. I'm so proud of my students and grateful for all the people in my life that have helped cheer me on to achieve my wins and be there to pick me up to help overcome the challenges.

I wanted to jump on this achievement cakes trend but I ate so much cake doing this video. Originally I got this cute Peach Oolong heart cake from Patisserie Fleur and tried to record myself but it didn't work out so I got myself 2 tiramisu mini cakes the next day from Cake Talk and finally got this out. Sorry if the 1st part is a little hard to hear, but I could not pull myself to record it again. Speaking into a recording or video continues to be a challenge for me but it'll be something I try to work on occasionally to connect with you all more in a different way than my writing and blogging.

Grief is something that isn't always linear and as Grief is something that isn't always linear and as a lawyer it doesn't mean you're immune to feeling grief, the shock, the continued ups and downs... In my career journey section and personal sections, I wrote a blog post, titled "Grief and Loss as a Lawyer". I've had some amazing responses to it as I think it's a relatable piece.
In this post, I shared my raw experiences of loss—first as a new associate when both my grandfathers passed in the same year, and later when I lost my mother during my practice.

The legal profession rarely slows down, even when we’re hurting. As lawyers, we feel responsible for everyone else’s problems while our own world is falling apart. Client deadlines don’t pause for personal tragedy.

What changed for me between these losses? From trying to power through grief as a junior associate to eventually recognizing when I needed to step away completely. If you’re a legal professional struggling with loss, know you’re not alone.

Read my journeys on the blog (Link to the site in Bio) go to Career Journey or Personal. I’d love to hear how you’ve navigated similar challenges.

This Halloween, take a brief recess from case files and remember: just as in court, proper evidence gathering applies to candy collection, reasonable precautions constitute due diligence in costume safety, and jurisdiction over trick-or-treating ends at 9pm for minors. The doctrine of assumed risk doesn't absolve hosts from maintaining safe premises for guests. Wishing all counsel a legally sound celebration where the only thing frightening is your opposing counsel's argument. #LegalHalloween #CounselOfSpooks #Halloween2025
